RESEARCH CENTERS

     The Public Policy Foundation of West Virginia conducts its research and analysis activities through a series of research centers located throughout West Virginia. Each center shall concentrate on specific issues or areas of interest. Research centers shall be established as the availability of resident scholars dictate. These research centers and their areas of interest include:

 Center for Economic Growth – all areas of public policy that contribute to the economic growth of the State including the development of public, private and human capital. The Center shall serve as the flagship research center under the direction of Dr. Russell Sobel of West Virginia University, the Foundation’s Senior Economist

·           Center for Government Policy issues relating to the tax, budgetary and regulatory operation of government as well as government efficiency in organization and the delivery of services. The Center is under the Direction of Robin Capehart.

·           Education Research Center – issues relating to K-12 and higher education

·           Center for Legal Policy – issues relating the judiciary, the civil justice and protection of property rights

·           Center for Energy and Natural Resources – issues relating to energy and the development of the State’s natural resource base

·           Center for Health Care Policy – issues relating to the affordability and the availability of health care

·           Center for Technology Advancement – issues relating to the use of technology for the effective and efficient delivery of government services

Center for Nonprofit Organizationsissues relating to development of nonprofit organizations and their role in civil society
